What's up with you guys anyway. The last 2-3 years I have looked at the Florida roster and drooled over many of their guys:
barkov
Heberdeau
Eklund...er, Ekblad
Dadonov
Trochek
Hoffman

and they add BOB in net....

I just don't get it. Really good looking group. But seems 10th to 12th in East all they can do. Just seems like they SHOULD be a playoff team. Is it the blueline????no depth???

A lot I find is terrible luck and I hate saying that but who would have guessed the Metro would be this much of a pain in the butt where they are claiming all the wildcards. So in the 8 teams divisions the chances are poor.

I also wasn't expecting Montreal and Buffalo to be as high up as they are so I thought it would be between Florida and Toronto fighting it out for a spot with one getting a div spot and one getting a wildcard. Now its not looking that way although I still think Toronto will fall down here shortly

It’s a good question and a source of annoyance for many fans. Defense and inconsistency throughout the lineup at different times have served as a way to disrupte them from being able to “put it all together.”

Trocheck is not sniping the way he used to and Hoffman seems to have been figured out on the PP which was his only bread and butter he is losing trade value by the minute.

Hoffman is getting revealed to be fairly one dimensional. It didn't bother me/attract attention when he was scoring loads of goals last year and at the start of this year. But, now that his productivity is drying up, it is looking apparent and painful.

Of course, the whole power play lost mojo, variety, and creativity and became a simple pass-as-much-as-you-can-to-Hoffman exercise. Stop Hoffman; stop the Panthers' power play.

Ya'll Florida fans will learn real quick that Bob giveth...and Bob taketh away. He NEEDS a good defense in front of him on most nights, and then there are amazing saves no one else can make. His lack of emotion will wear on you and he can let some of the softest goals you'll ever see. Hes a 100% positional Goalie, once out of position his scrambling skills lack. He gave CBUS some great years, but in the end he went female dog and ditched the team. Good luck with him...you better sign some D that can block shots and clear the crease or you'll regret picking him up.

I dont recall this lineup getting so schooled in faceoffs i know whenever i hear the broadcasters say were ahead in the games faceoffs i think to myself how??? I seem to see way more losses than wins

Right on, Jimbo.

I had said something similar on an older blog. Both the PP and Hoff became very one dimensial and predictable. Teams figured out quickly that the game plan was to feed the puck to Hoff for a one-timer. There’s really no diversity in it. It’s the same thing every time.

Trocheck 3 giveaways on that powerplay. I would say bench some of these guys but they get paid either way so it likely doesnt bother them any
